Figs with Honey and
Peppercorns

 

Ingredients:

  • 8 figs
  • 1 tsp pickled green peppercorns
  • 1 tsp pink peppercorns
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp orange liqueur
  • 7 oz gouda

Preparation:

  1. Rinse and dry figs carefully, cut in half lengthwise, and cut into them crosswise without cutting all the way through. Cut a thin slice from the round side of each fig so the halves will stay upright.
  2. Drain green peppercorns and chop coarsely with a knife. Crush pink peppercorns with the flat side of a knife blade. Combine honey and orange liqueur. Grate cheese coarsely.
  3. Place 2 fig halves in each cooking tray and sprinkle with cheese. Cook under the heating element for 8 – 10 minutes. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chopped and crushed peppercorns.
