Gourmet du Village Traditional Cinnamon Baked Apples

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) brown sugar
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) Baked Apple Spice Mix
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) butter

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 180˚C (350˚F).
  2. Cut out the core of each apple, making sure the hole is wide enough to fit on the center-piece of a Gourmet du Village Apple Baker, allowing the apples to sit on the bottom of the bakers, or use an oven-proof dish, and place in dish.
  3. Mix the brown sugar and the Baked Apples Spices together. Stuff each apple with an equal amount of the sugar mix and 15 ml (1 tbsp) of butter.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Check to see if apples are tender soft, if they are still a bit hard, continue to bake for another 10 – 15 minutes.
  5. Let cool for a few minutes. Then, eat them right out of the Apple Baker dish or if you prefer, use two serving spoons and carefully lift the apples out of the oven-proof dish and place on individual plates.
  6. Drizzle with the syrup from the bottom of the dish. Serve warm. Great with vanilla ice cream!
