The fine construction of the thong, which was specifically developed for the deep footbed, corresponds perfectly to the anatomy of the foot. You will notice the exceptional comfort right away. The thong is naturally surrounded by the toes and guides the toes back to their natural position which are often painfully pushed together by fancy dress shoes.
For this reason it is recommended to select the normal width in these styles. The footbed of the narrow width is only suitable for very slender feet.

Upper Material: Birko-Flor Nubuck has a special finishing process that gives this material a surface that not only looks like nubuck but feels like it as well.
Buckle: Each buckle is corrosion protected and the enamel is baked numerous times. This method ensures that they can withstand significant stress over the years.
Footbed: The footbed consists of a soft anatomically shaped cork latex core between two jute layers. The lower jute layer provides stability while the upper, denser layer absorbs moisture. Layering these together with the suede leather lining ensures an optimum climate for your feet and unsurpassed wearing comfort.
Outsoles: The outsoles are made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and are characterized by their exxcellent wear resistance, while providing superior shock absorption. This prevents extreme wear and protects against postural deformities.
The right width for everyone: Everyone's feet are different. That is why Birkenstocks offer their deep footbed in two different widths: a normal width for normal feet and a narrow width for especially slender feet.
In order to create a perfect fit, the upper sections are aligned with the width of the respective footbed.
